چکیده

oxygen delivery per unit of TTI was significantly lowered and Endo ECGs showed ischemia (ST elevation) when Endo/Epi flow ratios (microsphere method) fell below 1.0 (P < 0.001). Ischemia occurred without anemia (Hgb > 10 g %) in severe aortic stenosis; with mild anemia (Hgb 5-10 g %) and mild aortic stenosis; and with severe anemia (Hgb < 5 g %) without aortic stenosis. Ischemic Endo ECGs occurred with mild supravalvar aortic stenosis and mild anemia despite a 63% (92 to 150 cc/100 g/min) average increase in subendocardial flow while Epi ECGs remained normal. Altered flow distributions and abnormal ECGs were always predictable from the ratio: DPTI X 02 content (Supply)/TTI (Demand). These determinants of Supply and Demand are readily obtained from measurements of hemoglobin, saturation, and blood

Blood oxygenation during hyperpressure intraperitoneal fluid administration in a rabbit model of severe liver injury: Evaluation of a novel concept for control of pre-hospital liver bleeding

Oxygen is an essential part of the most important metabolic pathways in aerobic organisms. Oxygen delivery is merely dependent on blood, rendering blood loss a devastating event. Traumatic pre-hospital liver bleeding is a major cause of early trauma deaths in human and animals, with no established therapeutic method yet. Increasing intra-abdominal pressure (IAP) has been shown to reduce liver b...

The Hemodynamic Effects of Drugs on Myocardial Oxygen Use

The circulatory responses to high equinalgesic doses of morphine are compared with those of pethidin. The decrease in mean arterial blood pressure in case of morphine was 28p.c., with a paralleled and identical decrease in total peripheral resistance and no negative inotropic effects.  Pethidine decreased blood pressure 54p.c., as a result of peripheral vasodilation of 46p.c. and a sharp drop...

Comparing the Effect of Simple Filtration Hemodialysis and Ultrafiltration Hemodialysis on Arterial Oxygen Saturation and Blood Pressure in Chronic Dialysis

Background and purpose: Hypoxemia and hypotension are important complications of hemodialysis in patients with chronic renal failure that are linked to several factors, including the type of filters used. The aim of this study was to compare the effect of simple filtration hemodialysis and ultrafiltration hemodialysis on blood pressure and blood arterial oxygen level. Materials and methods: In...

Validity of Peripheral Capillary Oxygen Saturation and Normal Mixed Venous Oxygen Tension in Measurement of O2 Content

Background The change in venous oxygen saturation occurs earlier, and even its reduction is faster than arterial oxygen saturation. The aim of this study was to validate SvO2 and PvO2 for O2 content measurement in children hospitalized w...

Hand Grip Strength and Myocardial Oxygen Consumption Index among Coronary Artery Bypass Grafting Patients

Background: Hand grip strength (HGS) is a reliable indicator of peripheral muscle strength. Although, numerous studies have investigated the strength of hand grip; little attention has been given to coronary artery disease (CAD) patients, exploring the relationship between HGS and myocardial oxygen consumption (MVO2) index. The current study aimed to evaluate the interaction between HGS and MVO...
